What this page is about

I'll be posting photographs taken during my special events and ghost hunts on this page. If you have a good photograph of a ghost, send it to me and I'll consider posting it here. I don't rely on technical methods of ghost hunting but occasionally I get a good digital image of something fascinating.

Are these convincing images of paranormal phenomena?

Paranormal Washington, one of the hotest ghost hunting groups in the West, captured this image rising from the floor of the Gig Harbor Grange. The left hand of this entity is clearly visible grasping the chair. The right hand appears to be reaching out to the investigator. This old building may be located over the site of an Indian village or burial ground. The second picture was treated with contrast enhance to better outline this mysterious figure. My thanks to tech manager Scott Power and his colleagues for permission to post these pictures on my Website.

Margaret Manzo attended one of my presentations on ghosts and methods of detecting paranormal activity and learned something about light anomalies in photographs. On returning home, she retrieved from her collection the fascinating photo you can see below.  This etheral purple fountain was captured with a digital camera at Domain Chandon, a champagne winery in the Napa Valley.

Wesbite visitor Donna sent several photographs that show a strange light anomaly hovering over this table. The table appears to be an antique but I have no information about its age or former owners. The table has been in possession of the current owner for 30 years. This light anomaly is not caused by the camera's flash. I have no reports of other paranormal phenomena associated with this table. The surface of the table has been varnished, but there is no layer of glass that might reflect light in this way. The photos were taken with different cameras. Any ideas from knowledgeable photoghraphers would be most welcome.

The photo below was taken by ghost hunter and good friend, Jackie Ganiy, president of Sonoma S.P.I.R.i.T.S. She spent a night aboard the aircraft carrier Hornet in Alameda, CA, and captured this fantastic orb on the flight deck. Notice the skull inside the orb.

Another fascinating infra-red picture taken by Jackie Ganiy in the engine room of the aircraft carrier Hornet. It looks to me like the image of a man who presents his left side to the camera; his left arm is clearly seen and below his knees the legs become invisible. He may be wearing a life vest, accounting for the appearance of a thick layer of clothing on the front and back of his torso.

The photo below was sent to me by a young friend who is fascinated with ghosts. The photo was taken in the back seat of his uncle's car. The three kids on the left were the object of the photo. The fourth kid on the right is a mystery. No one knows his identity. My friend is certain that only three kids were in the car at the time this photo was taken.

On January 19, 2008, I made this copy of a photograph taken Christmas Eve in the 1850's vintage Folsom Hotel, in Folsom, CA. The bar tender who showed me this photo said the people in the photograph had no idea who the bearded fellow was whose image appears to the left. She also told me that locals who frequent the hotel bar believe he was a handyman who installed new mirrors behind the bar in the 1960s. The man finished the job, sat at the bar enjoying a drink on the house, then dropped dead.

Michael Dwyer in room number 1 of the haunted Hotel Leger in California's Gold Rush   country. Notice the large orb high on the wall, above Michael's head. EVP and video sweeps of this room yielded nothing. The rectangular light anomaly over Michael's left shoulder was not visible when we examined the room.

My friend Sally Aquino took this shot at the Hotel Leger, a Gold Rush-era hotel in Mokelumne Hill, CA. Can you see three orbs suspended over the bed? Orbs are interesting, especially when seen by the naked eye, but their meaning is unclear.

Below - Look at the pale apparition seated at the table in Manresa Castle, Port Townsend on Puget Sound, Washington.  This may be a female ghost dressed in a long Victorian gown. Her long skirt and puffy shoulders are clearly visible.

Look at the image in this second story window over the Old Town Cafe in Bellingham, Washington. Do you see a woman looking down at the street? She rests her chin on her hand. Her hair is done in a 1940s style. Her gaze is downward to your right as if she is watching people pass by on the sidewalk below.

Below: Jeff Dwyer is currently conducting EVP surveillance at Sonoma's infamous Whipping Tree on First Street East. The place continues to fascinate ghost hunters and local children (including Michael and Sarah Dwyer, shown here) who have passed on the legend of whippings that were done here.
